We provide individual, couple, and family therapy. We believe that the most important aspect of therapy is to provide you with a safe space where you can freely express yourself, and where we can develop a trusting relationship.
We are systemically trained, which means that we always consider the role of the family and the community in one’s life, even if that person decides not to include their family in counseling. A large part of wellness is having healthy, meaningful relationships, not just with others, but with ourselves.
Our clients often come to therapy experiencing significant stress resulting from living in a society where their cultural, sexual, or gender identities are not always recognized or validated. This is known as Minority Stress. In therapy, we help clients cope with this stress in a safe environment where they can be who they are.
We treat transgender and gender non-conforming clients in adherence to the standards of care set by The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Collectively, our therapists have written over 100 letters of recommendation for hormones and surgery. Based on a client’s needs, we can also use an informed consent model of care. We can refer a client to medical professionals in the area who prescribe hormones using this informed consent model.
